About Me

My name is Courtney, I am a 30-something "domestic engineer". I am a previous educator and apparently am pretty tech-savvy. My hubs is a software engineer so he's pretty much a techie too. We have two young children; a son and a daughter. C-boy and A-girl as we will call them here for privacy reasons are 5 and 2 respectively. They are keeping me busy! The hubby (AKA, the Engineer) and I have been married for almost 9 years and plan on 90 more! Here are some basic things about me…Some important and some not so much! I love textiles…Paper, ribbon, fabric, paint, clay, crayons, play dough, you name it, I can have fun with any medium. I am not very artsy with drawing, but I can sew and scrapbook just about anything. I love to cook! I'm the kind of chef that has about 30 cookbooks and browses through them often enough, but I gleam ideas from them and hardly ever actually follow a recipe! Even when I write things down (my own recipe) I seem to rarely go back to cook it the same way twice! It's amazing how a family of four can go through bread, so I love experimenting with my bread machine! I used to have to refrigerate a loaf before we'd eat it all. Now it never makes it to the fridge! I plan on posting recipes for cooking through the seasons along with special additions of desserts and breads. I love my kids. Right now, they are my primary focus. C-boy loved preschool and was very excited to start Kindergarten in August. He is VERY outgoing and social but sometimes can be too assertive and too friendly. C-boy has worn glasses for over two years and looks a lot like the adorable little boy in "Jerry Macguire" When he gets upset, they are the first thing he tosses because he rubs at his eyes something fierce. He has quite the determined and stubborn spirit, but he is our little love! A-girl is absolutely hilarious. She can talk up a storm and speaks very well for her age. She has taken to laughing and running at the same time and then yells about how she's "crazy". She loves all animals and points out every one she sees. She is also fascinated with airplane. She has earned a family favorite nickname of Baby Lynn one that she shares with me. She has her Grammie's blue eyes which is very fun for me because that gene skipped me and my sisters and got her instead. For more information, I have a "100 things about me" posted as well, so head over there to learn more than you ever wanted to know!
